Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Reflection:
Being a mom that works outside the home, I feel like I have failed or “struck out” by eight in the morning most days. Some may think that is early, but on some days it could be even earlier. For everyone to be on-time, we all have to be out of the house by 6:45am. With a husband and three kids, getting everyone out of the house, with everything they need, and on-time is just short of a miracle each day. At any given time, we as mothers are constantly wearing a lot of hats. A “small” miracle, like getting to work on-time, sadly I don’t thank the Lord enough for.
Expecting to be the best in every area of your life is not realistic, especially when there are forces working against you in the spiritual realm that pick at your Christian walk every day. If some of us listened to what we said to ourselves it is no wonder we may live a defeated lifestyle that is a poor witness to God’s goodness. Do you really have to do all those things you are doing on a daily basis or are you running on auto pilot?
The sooner we identify the things that the Lord would have us do for Him, the less strike outs we will have and the better witness we will be for the people around us.

- Write down all the activities that you do on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Under each item list the pros and cons of each task
- For the items that have the most cons or giving you the most stress give it God in prayer and act on what He tells you to do.
- Saints, we should be doing this at least quarterly through the course of a year. Remember our most precious gift that the Lord has given us other than Jesus is time, it is priceless. The only way to experience true wealth is to spend it wisely.
